Philodendron ‘Red Anderson’ is a striking variegated hybrid known for its mix of cream, soft pink, and deep green tones. New leaves often emerge with a rosy or red-blushed tint, fading into a marbled combination of white, pale green, and darker green sectors. The foliage is typically elongated and slightly leathery with a subtle sheen. Its variegation pattern varies from plant to plant, making each specimen visually distinct. Growth is upright and moderately compact, forming a tidy rosette before producing longer petioles with maturity.

Light Requirements:

Prefers bright, indirect light to maintain strong variegation. Too little light results in greener leaves, while prolonged direct sun may scorch the pale areas.

Watering:

Water when the top 2–3 cm of soil is dry. Keep the soil slightly moist but never soggy. Consistent overwatering can lead to root rot, especially in variegated varieties.

Humidity:

Enjoys 60%+ humidity, but adapts to typical household levels. Higher humidity supports larger leaves and reduces browning on pale sections.

Temperature:

Ideal range is 18–28°C. Avoid cold drafts and temperatures below 15°C.

Soil:

Use a light, chunky aroid mix—a blend of peat-free compost, orchid bark, perlite, and a little coco coir. This ensures good drainage and airflow around the roots.
