Sansevieria pinguicula is a compact, slow-growing succulent valued for its thick, short, upright leaves and unique rosette habit. Unlike most sansevierias, its leaves are stiff, triangular, and densely packed, forming tight clumps that rarely exceed 15 cm in height. The leaves have a dark green, sometimes blue-green hue, often with faint horizontal banding, giving it a subtle, textured appearance.
Light:
Bright, indirect light is ideal.
Can tolerate partial shade but growth slows.
Avoid prolonged direct sunlight on leaves, which may cause scorching.
Watering:
Succulent-like tolerance: allow soil to dry completely between waterings.
Overwatering is the main cause of root rot.
Water lightly in winter; more frequent watering during active growth.
Soil:
Well-draining succulent or cactus mix.
Adding perlite, pumice, or coarse sand improves drainage.
Temperature:
Prefers 18–28 °C
Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below 12 °C
Humidity:
Low to moderate humidity tolerated; typical indoor conditions are sufficient.
